Pétion-Ville Carnival 2026 Officially Concludes
In an official statement issued on Monday, February 16, 2026, Pétion-Ville City Hall informed the public that the 2026 Pétion-Ville Carnival officially came to an end on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
Decision Following a Regrettable Incident
This decision was taken after several individuals were injured earlier on Sunday evening, prompting municipal authorities to bring the festivities to an immediate conclusion.
Ban on Any Extension of Carnival Activities
As a result, the municipal authorities clearly state that any attempt to extend the carnival, organize unauthorized carnival-related activities, or occupy public roads under the pretext of continuing the festivities is strictly prohibited.
Acknowledgment of Partners and Participants
In the statement, the municipal administration expressed its gratitude to all participants, cultural and musical groups, as well as partner institutions—particularly the Haitian National Police (HNP)—for their support and their contribution to the smooth running of the carnival.
Cleanup Operations and Return to Normalcy
“Municipal services have been mobilized to ensure street cleaning and the gradual return to normalcy in the commune. Any temporary installations or occupations related to the carnival must be removed without delay,” the statement reads.
Commitment to Public Order and Safety
Pétion-Ville City Hall reiterates its commitment to maintaining public order, security, and the collective well-being of the population.
